German Shipyard Wins Asian Cruise Ship Order 150 000 ton ship for Star Cruises...

Hong Kong based Star Cruises has ordered another cruise ship from German shipbuilders Meyer Werft.

The 150,000 grt vessel will be 330 metres long and is a sister vessel to the ship ordered in October 2013.

This ship will increase Star's fleet to eight ships, whilst for the shipbuilder it means they have eight cruise ships on their order book to the end of 2017.

This order and the other six cements prospects until the end of 2017 for 3,100 Papenburg shipyard workers as well as 20,000 people in contract and partner work throughout Europe.

The ship will be designed for the Asian cruise market, the shipbuilders said in a statement with restaurants, entertainment venues and 'high class suites' as well as casinos. The crew will number 2030, with 3300 passengers accomodated in 1680 cabins.
