Cantabria's support during TALISMAN SABER 2013
Published on Lt. Indalecio Núñez (author)
The Spanish Combat Support Ship ESPS Cantabria deployed to Australia since February, is currently in the Coral Sea participating in Exercise TALISMAN SABER 13 providing logistic support to United States Navy and Royal Australian Navy ships.
One key element for the successful conduct of military operations and exercises at and from the sea is a reliable logistics supply chain. During Exercise TALISMAN SABER 2013 (TS13) the back bone of the logistic supply chain of naval forces at sea are the different logistic ships of the participating Navies. Cantabria’s crew of 168 sailors and officers, including a RAN contingent, are demonstrating the logistic capabilities of the ship and her ability to interoperate with ships of different navies
Over the course of the 23rd and 24th of July, Cantabria conducted replenishment at sea with US guided missile destroyers USS Momsen, USS Chung Hoon and USS Preble in the Coral Sea as part of TALISMAN SABER.
