Mar. 25, 2014: HMAS ARUNTA [II] returns to Fleet Base West after Anti-Ship Missile upgrade - ABIS Julianne Cropley.
6940. Another Anzac Class frigate, HMAS ARUNTA [II] has received the towering local-designed Anti-Ship Missile Radar Array at Henderson shipyards in WA. Hence sistership HMAS PERTH no longer stands alone with the distinction of being the tallest ship in the RAN in 2014, although we suspect the large Landing Helicopter Dock HMAS CANBERRA [III] will have claimed that distinction when commissioned. CANBERRA [III], AT 30,300 short tons full load, could comfortably fit ARUNTA [II] on her flight deck.
