Crew of German Navy Ship Changes Helicopter's EngineSEA LYNX MARK 88A HELICOPTERS

The crew of the German Navy ship, FGS Hessen, which is currently deployed within the EU Naval Force, changed an engine of the warship’s Sea Lynx Mark 88A helicopter during their recent port visit to the Seychelles last month.

The procedure of changing an engine is extremely specialized and requires for a warship’s deck to be as stable as possible.
Two Sea Lynx helicopters onboard FGS Hessen provide crucial support to the EU Navfor during the anti-piracy missions near Somali coast.
FGS Hessen joined EU Navfor Operation Atalanta on December 3rd 2013. She is patrolling the seas off the Somali coast ever since.
