AUSTRALIA has completed a clean sweep of races in "The Battle of the Ditch" on day two of the Navy Australian Open at Stockton Beach.
The Battle of the Ditch is a three races series between Australia and New Zealand and it was the home country who proved dominant, winning each race to take the series 3-0.
Australian representative crews were Tugun Hunters Open Women from Queensland and Bilgola Gold Open Men from NSW.
Once again Newcastle turned on great conditions for competitors and spectators alike, with a healthy crowd on hand to see the best of the best in Surfboat Racing compete.
Also, the Navy National Interstate Surf Boat Championship were completed on Saturday, with NSW taking out the crown, followed by Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
The Champion NSW team were represented by Elouera Wilko Open Men and Austinmer Blue Open Women.
The action will continue on Sunday with the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals of the Navy Australian Open Men, Open Women, Reserve Men, Under 23 Men, Under 23 Women, Under 19 Men divisions.
