Deltamarin signed a contract today with Malaysian oilfield services provider Bumi Armada to provide the basic design of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. Once built, this FPSO will be installed at EnQuest’s Kraken Field located in the UK North Sea in 2016. Bumi Armada won the $1.4 billion contract from EnQuest late last year to deploy, operate and maintain the FPSO. The turret-moored, FPSO (a converted ice-class tanker) will have a storage capacity of 600,000 barrels and be 285.41 meters in length overall and 50 meters in breadth. A total of 16 production risers will be connected to the buoy turret mooring and Bumi Armada notes the turret “will be one of the largest of its kind in the world.” The total contract value of Deltamarin’s basic design work, to be carried out over an estimated period of six months, is around 3.6 million €. |
