The Navy’s floating history lesson wants you. Well, it wants three of you.

The frigate Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat, has three E-6 billets open in the next nine months, according to a Navy-wide message released Monday: A culinary specialist (opening in April), a Navy counselor (opening in September) and a yeoman (open now).

Sailor tours aboard Constitution normally last three years, according to the message, and are classified as Type I shore duty. The job includes frequent interaction with the public; applicants must have “an impeccable appearance and exceptional military bearing,” according to the message, NAVADMIN 007/14.

Additional requirements, per the message: No drunken driving convictions within five years, no “excessive debt” and no tattoos visible when wearing a short-sleeve uniform (tattoo waivers are available).

Candidates can click the message link above for application information. For more details, visit the ship’s official website or emailconstitution.cc@navy.mil.
