Promising Beginning of the Year for Lockheed MartinAEGIS COMBAT SYSTEM

The 2014 began very promising for the U.S. defence contractor Lockheed Martin, which has been awarded two contracts by the U.S. Department of Defence, worth a total of USD 24.1 million.

Both contracts relate to Aegis Combat System, an integrated naval weapons system that uses powerful computer and radar technology to track and guide weapons to destroy enemy targets.

The first contract, amounting to $14.4 million, is related to delivery order to supply one Mission Signal Processor equipment suite and two array simulator cabinets to the U.S. Navy by November 2015, intended for the Aegis Training and Readiness Center.

The second contract award is a $9.7 million contract modification for production of electronics for the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) AEGIS Modernization module. This contract is due for completion by June 2015.
