MINEHUNTER: HMS Ramsey.
Comments (1)A SAILOR in the Royal Navy has wished everyone a merry Christmas while on duty abroad. Leading chef Brendan Cobb, of Bransholme, will spend the festive period away from family and friends, while he continues to serve on Royal Navy minehunter HMS Ramsey.
He is a member of Crew Six and is currently based in Bahrain.
HMS Ramsey is one of three minehunters permanently based in the Gulf region to practise the specialist skill of searching for mines in warmer, shallower waters than those in the United Kingdom.
Mr Cobb, 36, cooks three meals a day for the 39 people on board.
He is in charge of ordering enough food for the ship’s company and is also a qualified first-aider and firefighter in HMS Ramsey’s damage control team.
Mr Cobb said: “I want to say merry Christmas to my family and friends.
“I hope you are all well and I am missing you loads.
“I am looking forward to getting home and having Christmas again. It will be great to see everyone in January.”
