Italian aircraft carrier Cavour is on her way to the Port Rashid in Dubai, the Gulf News reports.
The aircraft carrier will pay a week-long visit to Dubai to improve Italy’s economic, defense and humanitarian relations with the Middle East and Africa.
In addition, business and governmental talks will be held during the ship’s visit.
The deployment to the Middle East and Africa is planned to last for six months within which the aircraft carrier plans to visit 20 countries in the region.
Cavour is the newest flagship of the Italian Navy, which was launched on 20 July 2004 and it entered into service with the Navy in 2009.
Her first mission was to Haiti as part of Operation White Crane, Italian operation for Haiti earthquake relief.
The warship will leave Port Rashid on January 2nd 2014.
