The 14 oak chairs and table were thrown out by the then Russian owner of Portsmouth FC in 2006 in favour of modern, minimalistic furniture.
But after being salvaged from a skip by a builder, the history of the furniture, dating back to the 1800s, has been revealed.
The items were made for HMS Warrior, the world's first iron-hulled warship, and later donated by the Royal Navy to Portsmouth Football Club.
The chairs have the design of a ship's wheel on the back and are likely to have been made for a ward room on board HMS Warrior, that was built in the 1860s.
They have been owned by Portsmouth Football Club for more than 70 years but during World War Two they were moved to a harbour fort where Winston Chruchill and Field Marshall Montgomery are said to have used them to plot the downfall of the Germans.
